First thing has to be pricing, right? Well yes and no. Because of the Affordable Care Act brokers in Pennsylvania are all given the same rates for the same health insurance carriers. So as far as pricing goes there isn't a big difference. However smart, seasoned health insurance brokers and agents know how to find the right policies that don't include costly less utilized benefits.
Next we have to go to experience. About fifteen years ago we were the new health insurance agency in Central and Northeastern PA. And being a new insurance agent can be largely trial and error in the beginning. There isn't very much formal training.
